The process of upgrading to the newest beta wasn’t terribly difficult. The instructions in the codex were easy enough.
But I’m not seeing any great improvements. I still have to install the “disable canonical redirects” plugin. This seems to be a definite flaw in WordPress, so why isn’t it fixed?
