2009 Summer Reading list thoughts

Fans of my blog (hahaha) may recall last summer’s reading list. Every book was a pleasure. It will be tough to surpass this summer. Careful planning is needed. Some preliminary thoughts:

  • Finish Swann’s Way.
  • Read some of Cooper’s Leatherstocking Tales.
  • Re-read Moby Dick
  • Two words: Inherent Vice
  • Finally finish Crime and Punishment
  • Some Chekhov short stories (added 4/15/09)
  • Katherine Anne Porter short stories (added 4/15/09)
  • Fool on the Hill by Matt Ruff (added 4/20/09)
  • Geek Love by Katherine Dunn (added 4/20/09)
  • A Separate Peace

Note a trend of being overly ambitious. I’ll undoubtedly scale back by Memorial Day. But it’s a start.
