I used to think Marxism and its various spinoffs underestimated human nature. The whole notion that people would selflessly contribute to the common good seemed naive.
Now I’m starting to think it’s the lassiez faire capitalists (like me) who are the naive ones. We thought a rising tide would float all boats. In fact, everything is sinking.
